A very large and powerful mask. Two very striking features - the intense, deep-red color and the abstract nose - the nostrils forming the body of a bird, with a long pointed beak extending downward.
The eyes are emphasized with large white borders. The forehead has incised and painted spirals, and a small serrated vertical ridge.
The original rattan trim was used as a base for a second similar trim which included feathers and was painted black.
